The ROAR Nationals represents the
last indoor race for the season and a good place for all the factory teams to
show their wares. The CRC team rolled into the Nationals with a perfect season
win streak going. Team CRC won the stock A-main in Cleveland, then T.Q.ed and
went 1-2-3 at the Snowbirds. Now the challenge, the ROAR Nationals.
Jeff Dayger T.Q.’s again!
At the Nationals, Jeff Dayger continued his reign of terror on the T.Q. position, putting his #1304 CRC Carpet Knife 3.2R in the top spot after qualifying. Jeff used CRC’s #2158 Purple compound front tires and CRC’s #2162 White compound rear tires. Jeff also used CRC’s new red #4274 Dura-Shock, #4265 red 5 degree front upper arm mounts, #4275 delrin upper arms, #4277 Delrin Steering Blocks and CRC’s #4262 new front ride height shims.
1/12th Stock A-main – CRC
cars qualified 1,2,3,4,5,6
+ 8th and finished 1-2-3-4-5-6. Yes, that’s right 1st thru 6th were Team CRC
cars!
In the main, a classic battle between Dayger and new CRC driver Ray Darroch. Ray was running his #1304 CRC Carpet Knife 3.2R for the first time. The 2 drivers were practically identical on the track. Ray Darroch was able to take the ROAR National Championship, leading Jeff Dayger by a mere 3 foot margin. Absolutely great racing amongst the 2 Team CRC drivers. Clean, fast Championship quality performances. Congratulations Ray Darroch!
Chasing the 2 drivers to the finish was Carpet knife
driver Peter Robinson? in 3rd,
CRC T-Fource driver John Tortorice in 4th, Carpet Knife pilot, Tom Firsching
in 5th and Cleveland and Snowbirds winner Mark Smyka 6th with his T-Fource. So
the final had CRC cars finishing 1-6th in stock with Mike Pulfur
suffering some radio interference in 10th with his T-Fource.
In the Masters Class, Eli Ezrow was T.Q. with his CRC T-Fource. Great T.Q. result for Eli! In the finals, Frank Calandra Jr.’s Carpet Knife was second with the CRC T-Fource of Perry Caswell in 3rd.
