The Mile High Indoor Championship is the traditional season ending onroad event held at the awesome 5280 Raceway in Denver, Colorado. The facility features CRC’s high grip Fasttrak carpet, Clik Trak barrier system, good lighting and an awesome race management staff. This year, despite dealing with the never-ending Covid wars, 180 entries took part in the annual Championship.

GT12

The new GT12 class features 1/12th cars with sports car bodies, 1s batteries and a 21.5 motor. Chassis efficiency, tight lines and no mistakes typically transform into a good result. This year, the A-main featured 4 CRC CK25 cars with the CRC drivers sweeping the entire podium. Top Qualifying driver, Walt Henderson, led wire to wire with a ton of pressure from home-town boy Mario Ficco. The 2 battled very close with a final gap after 6 minutes of .076 seconds. Wrapping up the podium sweep was long-time CRC racer, Jody Flipse. Joining the podium drivers in the A-main with his CRC CK25 car is Florida pilot Chistopher Crowder. Awesome job guys! The CK25 car kit (#3215) continues to win races coast to coast, all while being NEARLY HALF THE PRICE of the other cars on the market. Don’t pay more, just win more, with CRC.

World GT-R

The easiest and most affordable class in onroad is still the World GT-R division. Cars that look like real cars, not slammed door stops, and tires that last for YEARS. The GTR class is the most popular class at many racetracks throughout North America. One guy who really can run World GT-R is Denver CRC Ace Pilot, Mario Ficco. Mario was again on his game this week at the MHIC. Ficco took his CRC Gen X-10 RT (#1810) to a T.Q. and win. Powering Ficco’s ride was CRC’s Rocket Fuel 1s racing battery pack, #3715. Congrats to all the racers and a big thank you to the great management crew at 5280!
