Modified Class
At the 2011 European Championships for 1:12th cars in France, the track was extremely challenging with difficult corners, chicanes and both long and short straights, a true test of chassis, tires, power and driver. New CRC driver Simo Ahoniemi from Finland was solid all weekend long and took an impressive win in the 1:12th Modified class. Simo had wins in A1 and A2 securing the victory and allowing the 2004 Champ to regain the title again in 2011. Recently switching to CRC, Simo has enjoyed great success with his new colors, winning Finnish Championships and now the 2011 Euro Champs.
Finishing second to Simo making it an all CRC front row was the 2009 European Champion, Hupo Hönigl. Hupo was very quick all weekend, putting himself in a position to win the championship. However, some bad luck in A1 cost the Austrian a chance to win the title. Hupo battled back taking 2nd place in A2 and A3 to take 2nd overall and share the top of the podium with his new CRC teammate Ahoniemi.
