CRC cars approach 50% of the A-main field

The 2007 ROAR Nationals were held at CEFX Raceway in Canton, Michigan. As usual, a sea of red CRC cars invaded the 1/12th scale ranks. An excellent turnout of 1/12th racers made the race especially exciting, with 1/12th entries practically mirroring the touring car numbers. With 1/12th 19 turn only in it’s second year, these numbers were very encouraging for the 1/12th scale faithful.

As usual, the CRC Generation X (3200) was the quickest car at the event. The Generation X turned the fastest time of the event in A main #1 with Losi’s Todd Hodge piloting his CRC car to a 9.6 second lap, the only 9.6 of the weekend. This done on a morning track that had lower than normal grip levels. Todd used CRC’s new front end braces (still in development) and CRC’s new EZ access left bulkhead 3342.

To show the speed and consistency of his ride, Todd went on to turn fast lap in A-main #2 and A-main #3, setting the not only the exclusive 9.6 lap, he went on to set the only 9.7 lap of the A finals. The only other car to do a 9.7 (earlier in qualifying), was (you guessed it), another Gen X, this time in the hands of Trinity’s Mike Blackstock. The number of different Gen-X cars and drivers coupled with the speed of the these cars shows that it is a combination of both quality AND quantity. The quality of the car and design AND shear number of different drivers going fast with the new Gen X. Making the A-main in modified was Mike Blackstock, Todd Hodge, Bobby Flack and Jeff Dayger.

In 19 turn, Parma’s Paul Ciccarello and Terry Rott made the podium with their new Carpet Knife Generation X cars. Again 4 of the 10 cars were CRC machines.

In summary… for the new CRC Generation X;

** Almost 50% of the A-main 1/12th field

**3 cars in the top 5 in 1/12th Modified

** 2 cars on the podium in 1/12th 19 turn

** The fastest 3 laps of the event!

Not bad.
