An incredible race meeting for the young man from the UK, Ollie Payne. Run after run, he was the fastest car in both stock and modified. It took a little bad luck and the talent the multi-world champ Marc Rheinard to deny Payne from sweeping both stock and modified,

Congratulations to UK driver Ollie Payne on his total domination of the 2025 Euros with the CRC MetriCKs car and CRC batteries. Ollie was the fastest in both stock and modified.

In stock, he turned that raw speed into a European Championship by winning every race he started; all 5 rounds of qualifying and the first two A-mains, locking out the championship by winning 2 mains. Dominating a very tough field that included former European Champions and the reigning World Champion.

In addition to the MetriCKs car, Ollie also used a CRC Rocket Fuel 1s pack to power his spec class motor.

Modified Class

In modified, his domination was nearly as strong. He won 3 out of the 5 rounds of qualifying. He set the FAST LAP in EVERY Qualifier. He also set fast lap in 2 of the 3 mains. In the second A main, while closely battling for the lead in a must win scenario, he ran into a tough, gritty competitor in the eventual winner Marc Rheinard and a little bad luck in traffic. Congrats to Marc and the Awesomatix team, well deserved.

After the bad luck in A2, in his quest to secure the 2nd position, Ollie was leading A3 when suddenly he was “t-boned” with a car going straight across the curbing to take out his FRONT wheel, leaving the left front wheel destroyed and unable to turn fast laps. Sure, the offender was forced to give back the position, but the damage was done and Ollie could not hold a fast pace. Again, a tough break and a real shame to relegate the fastest car/driver at the race all the way back to 3rd.

A special shout out to Team CRC / Black Art driver Tobias Sutrich from Austria. Known more for nitro racing on asphalt, Tobias was incredibly fast with he CRC MetriCKs 1/12th car powered by a CRC Rocket Fuel battery. Sutrich qualified for the A main in an extremely competitive, tough field of carpet specialists. Great run Tobias!

Tobias took his CRC MetrCKs 1/12th car to an impressive 7th in the A Final. Never mind his driving talent, If the race suddenly breaks out into a street fight, it is great to have a guy like him on the team and on your side!

And speaking of Austria, a special thanks to team leader Robert Bachofner for turning wrenches, truing tires and keeping the drivers focused and on point. Robert has been a huge supporter of CRC dating back to the 1990’s!

Team leader of BlackArt and CRC Europe, Austrian Robert Bachofner. Robert has been bothering us for many years to make a 1/12th car with metric hardware. He is a real pain-in-the-ass. But he is a wealth of 1/12th scale knowledge and experience and we are thrilled to have him on our side. Good work boss!

In any case, with just a few weeks running the CRC car, Ollie Payne has captured the BRCA National Championship and was simply BAD FAST with the CRC MetriCKs at the 2025 European Championship. He left the event with the Stock Championship and the confidence that he has a rocket combo to work with in the future.
