Dayger T.Q.’s 1/12th stock – AGAIN!
Calandra Racing again shows the world it’s dominance in on-road carpet racing, winning yet another National title. Veteran team driver, Mike McMahon drove his CRC Carpet Knife to a victory in 1/12th 19-turn. To complete his race-winning setup, Mike also used CRC’s new Pro Cut tires on his car. Mike chose CRC’s Black Pro-Cut fronts (2174) and Pro Cut grey rear (2178)
Rounding out the top three, CRC Carpet Knife Pilot from Michigan, Terry Rott finished 2nd with his Knife/Pro-Cut combination. Terry is an absolute 1/12th scale purist, winning National titles back in the early 1980’s. Rott used CRC’s Soft Dual (magenta/orange) front tires (#2153) and the new Pro-Cut grey rear tires (#2178).
In third, CRC’s own Frank Calandra Jr. put his Pro-Cut shod Carpet Knife in 3rd. Frank used CRC Pro-Cut Purple fronts (2173) and Pro Cut Grey Rears (2178).
All three drivers were using a CRC’s optional front end parts, the Delrin A-arms and Steering blocks, the 10 Degree aluminum upper arm mount, titanium 6-32 turnbuckle as well as the red aluminum servo mounts.
CRC’s Jeff Dayger dominates again!
CRC Carpet Knife + Pro-Cuts T.Q. 1/12th Stock
At the 2006 ROAR Nationals, Jeff was on a collision course with a victory; a solid Top Qualifying result, the fastest laps of the weekend and a win in the second A-main. Jeff turned the fastest single lap and the only 40 lap run. Unfortunately, a slow, low qualifying car with no chance to make a winning impression on the race decided to become a factor in the results the only way he could, by waiting for Jeff and intentionally taking him out of the third A-main. Much like NASCAR, there are times in RC racing when the fastest driver and car combination doesn’t win. However, there is no denying what car and driver was the fastest in 1/12th stock at the 2006 ROAR Carpet Nationals.
*** Jeff was the only 1/12th stock car to to a sub 11.8 second lap.
*** Jeff was the only 1/12th stock car to go 40 laps.
*** Jeff had the fastest 10 lap average.
This race marks Jeff’s departure from stock racing. He will take to the modified division for the 2006/2007 season in both touring and 1/12th. His stock record for the past 2 years is quite impressive.
