| Andrew Knapp was T.Q. and winner in all 3 majors he attended for 2010-11 |
The 2011 ROAR Carpet Nationals was held at one of the finest carpet venues in the world, the Timezone II Race facility in LaCenter, Washington. Owners Mark Day and Richard St. Cyr built a dream facility featuring a 100 x 60 foot CRC Fasttrak carpet surface. The facility also features a tall drivers stand, ample pit room and a stocked hobby area. All of this in the scenic and rustic northwest, complete with tall pine trees and rolling hills.
At the event, Grand Rapids, Michigan CRC driver Andrew Knapp, capped off an amazing indoor race season for 2010-11 with a T.Q. and win in the 17.5 1:12th scale class. Andrew’s stunning season started with a T.Q. and win at the U.S. Indoor Champs in Cleveland, OH in November. Then onto the Snowbirds in January 2011 where Andrew not only was Top Qualifier and winner of 17.5, but he also was T.Q of the 13.5 Superstock class. Then the ROAR Nats in March 2011, Knapp kept his string alive with another TQ and win in the 17.5 class.
Knapp used a very stock CRC Gen-XL to dominant all these races. Stock front end with no options, standard set-up. The only option part was the CRC aluminum left bulkhead. With the CRC Gen-XL substantially more affordable than any other 1:12th cars on the market, and the fact that you need no options to win a National Championship with, the choice is simple for a 1:12th competition chassis.
Knapp also used CRC Pro Cut tires. Pro Cuts tires have been “the” choice for racers around the world. CRC’s HR-38 rim, used on the Pro Cut tires, is the lightest, most durable and true rim on the market. CRC Pro Cut tires have won many World and National Championship titles, Andrew now adds another in 2011.
In 17.5 no-timing racing, building good horsepower is a big part of the winning equation. And of course the battery is a big part of building horsepower. CRC’s 1s Lipo pack won EVERY no-timing spec event for the 2010 – 2011 season. Bodine started the streak in Vegas with a double win in 12th and World GT and then Knapp took it from there with a total sweep of the 17.5 season.

In World GT action, Josh Cyrul has been practically unbeatable for the last few big races. Josh’s driving and setup talents are quite impressive. He has a chance to win with an alkaline powered shoe box. While CRC team could not wrestle the victory from Josh Cyrul, the CRC Gen-X 10LE had a strong result finish 2 – 4 and 7 out of the 10 A-main competitors.

| Northwest CRC drivers Dave Ehrlich and Richard St. Cyr take the podium with their Gen-X 10LE rides! |
CRC’s Dave Ehrlich qualified 2nd and pressured Josh in A1. Dave took his CRC Gen-X 10LE to a strong second place. Rounding out the podium with a great result was Rick St. Cyr Jr. Also in the A-main with CRC Gen-X 10LE cars was Randy Grosse, RC Riot’s own Sean Guthrie, Bodine and Tyler Lynn.
Another ROAR Nats is in the record books with another title for CRC. Thanks to all the carpet racers for attending and a big shout out to Mark Day and Richard St. Cyr for building a beautiful Temple for carpet racing, Timezone II. A well run event at a top notch venue, thank you and congratulations.
